Fire Prevention
No building material can guarantee a fireproof home, but there are some preventative measures that can be taken to better prepare for fires. Like installing a non-combustible cladding.
All James Hardie cladding products have been fire tested and rated A2,s1-d0. Meaning they can be installed where non-combustible products are specified.

Vermin and Insect protection
James Hardie fibre cement stands up to vermin damage caused by e.g. termites, death-watch beetles and other wood disintegrating pests.
Based on testing completed by CSIRO Division of Capital Forest Products Report Numbers FP349 and FP274, James Hardie building products have demonstrated resistance to termite attack.
Weather protection

No one has control over the weather. So it's best to chose siding that resists our European climate and damage from precipitation, like James Hardie fibre cement siding. James Hardie Siding is warranted not to rot, warp or delaminate. Moisture can promote rot. So rain, snow and humidity are all hazardous to your home if you have wood siding. In addition, James Hardie Siding can be installed to withstand winds up to 225 km/h provided the installation conforms to proper installation methods found in our manuals.
