HardiePlank®: Coastal design at its finest

Once one of the original Cinque Ports, the small, picturesque town of New Romney is located just over a mile inland from the scenic beaches of Littlestone and Greatstone.

Mulberry Place is a select scheme of more than 30 three and four bedroom homes, situated at the edge of Romney Marsh wetlands.

Premium housing developer Pentland Homes has given considerable care and attention to every detail on the development, which has been constructed using sustainable materials and designed to be highly energy efficient.

Chris Doolan, Group Buyer, was keen to ensure the highest levels of design quality: ‘The level of specification and finish for the Mulberry Place properties is second to none, with bespoke kitchens and top brand appliances throughout.

‘We selected HardiePlank® fibre cement cladding for the scheme to meet our high standards of technical and aesthetic specification. The variety of colours available and colour matched accessories including paint and metal trims was also important for the detailing on such a large development.’

The design versatility of HardiePlank fibre cement cladding was also important to ensure the architect’s vision was met, with a mixture of half wrap, shiplapped horizontal and vertical ‘hit and miss’ installation styles utilised to bring the scheme to life.

HardiePlank cladding was featured on the properties in a wide range of colours, including Light Mist, Midnight Black, Arctic White and Sail Cloth, all in cedar texture.

"We selected HardiePlank® weatherboard for the scheme to meet our high standards of technical and aesthetic specification. The variety of colours available and colour matched accessories including paint and metal trims was also important for the detailing on such a large development."
