Product faq

How do I cut HardiePlank® cladding and how can I control the dust?

We sell a range of specialist tools designed to cut our products quickly, effectively and with a minimum of dust. The best are hand tools like the HardieGuillotine™ which is available from your distributor. Always use approved safety glasses and appropriate EN approved respiratory protection (PPE #2 or #3) for particulate hazards when working with HardiePlank® cladding and HardieTrim® NT3™.

In which sizes is the James Hardie saw blade available?

James Hardie saw blade is available in 160, 190, 254 and 305 mm.

The 160 blades have 20 mm bore with a reducer taking it to 16 mm.
The 190 blades have 30 mm bore with a reducer taking it to 20 mm.
On the 254 and 305 mm blades they have a 30 mm bore and no reducer.

Do I need to pre-drill HardiePanel® cladding before fixing?

No. Most nails or JH colour matched screws can be used without pre-drilling.

Can I use James Hardie® Edge Coating to repaint my HardiePlank® and HardieLinea® facade?

You can use James Hardie® Edge Coating to repaint your facade only, if you apply it according to our repainting instructions.
