When the owners of this detached bungalow looked to extend and improve their home they were looking for a material capable of withstanding sea breezes and salt water damage. The architects who were working on the house considered several cladding options such as, wood cladding, vinyl cladding, uPVC cladding and fibre cement cladding. After researching the features and benefits of the different options they felt HardiePlank® fibre cement cladding offered the best solution. Both for design and its characteristics, being water resistant and far less susceptible to the elements than any alternative. Low maintenance was also important, and the colour fade due to UV is a fraction of that compared to wood or uPVC cladding.
