Our weatherboards are non-combustible, achieving the highest rating possible (A2, s1-d0) for a coloured facade product. HardiePanel has been extensively fire tested under the 13501-1 suite of fire tests for CE compliance, and would not contribute to the propagation of fire.

With advanced seventh generation technology  we’ve created the most durable HardiePanel® cladding ever made. Enhanced properties for unmatched durability. Our additives are chemically bonded to provide lasting resistance to rain, hail, wind, fire, rot and pests

The best of both strength and usability

We’ve found the perfect balance between high-quality Portland cement, sand and cellulose fibre to deliver lightweight, easy-to-cut cladding that installs firm and fast.

Any weather-resistant membrane complying with BS-EN1521 and having a vapour resistance of 0.6 MNs/g is acceptable.

For straight cuts we recommend using a James Hardie saw blade for use with circular saws. For curved cuts or pipe cut outs please use a Jig Saw fitted with a TC (tungsten carbide) tipped blade. Typical reference numbers for these are Bosch T141 and Hitachi JA10. It is possible to cut the board with hard point hand saws but they will become blunt very quickly. Under no circumstances should the product be cut with high speed continuous tools like hand grinders or disc cutters. In all cases cut the panels with the face side up.

No. Most nails or James Hardie colour matched screws can be used without pre-drilling.

You can use any good quality external grade acrylic paint (water based) to paint HardiePlank and HardiePanel cladding. Please refer to our painting instructions and to the specific instructions given by the paint manufacturer.

HardiePanel cladding can be fixed at a maximum of 600 mm centres but this should be checked by a qualified engineer as this is linked to your local wind loads.
